A.S. Electrical Engineering Technology

Ivy Tech Community College

Program Chair: Andrew Bell

I set up this website to show, not only, what skills I have acquired while attending Ivy Tech, but also to give you some insight as to how the classes and labs were structured. Below you will find relevant information as to what was taught to myself and my fellow classmates. I have attached a link to the Ivy Tech Engineering homepage as well as the course descriptions for the classes I took while attending Ivy Tech. In the Electrical Engineering Technology program a few main focuses of ours were renewable energy, power supplys, amplification circuitry, and electrical design. In most cases our process was: Simulate the circuit using National Instruments Multi-Sim, Build the circuit on a breadboard, Run various tests on the circuit, Finish by soldering the circuit.

A little bit about myself

My intrest in electronics began when I was young. My uncle and grandpa were both in the electricians union, and when they were building my uncles house they would always have me there and explain to me what they were doing. This is what sparked my intrest, I thought it was amazing that there was only one line coming from the junction box but could power the whole house. As I got older and newer electronics started coming out I would always take them apart (sometimes not able to get them back together) to see how they worked. This is how I learned about circuit boards and different microchips that were being utilized. Not only do I have a love for electronics, but I also enjoy a lot of other activities including traveling, watching sporting events, and gardening. I have been to 5 countries other than the U.S. my favorite that I visited was the Dominican Republic. I love learning about other cultures, so the thing I liked most about the dominican was how many different types of people are there all within a few miles of eachother. I would like to do more traveling once I can establish myself in a carreer that allows me to do so. Sports has always been a big part of my life. I grew up playing just about every sport I could play; everything from basketball to tennis to golf and football. In highschool I was a three sport athlete at carroll highschool and proud to say I was a captain in all three sports my junior and senior year.
