METC-143 Materials and Proccesses

This was an interesting class as well. We watched a lot of engineering distaster videos and reported about what went wrong. I learned a lot about material strength and how the process of materials differs from one another. This course introduced me to structures, properties, processing, and applications of metals and ceramics commonly used in industry to develop problem solving skills in the areas of material selection, evaluation, measurement, and testing. I also enjoyed doing the Cable design project. It was very interesting to see the strength of different materials and ultimately figure out on a broad scope what size calbe was needed to hold a certain load.
